Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to whom was,
referred House bill entitled an Act to legalize a supplement

to the Maryland Code, containing the Acts of the General
Assembly, passed at the sessions of 1861 to 1867 inclusive,
arranged in Articles and sections to correspond with the Code
by Lewis Mayer, and to appropriate a sum of money to pur-
chase copies of the same, and to regulate their distribution,
reported it with the following amendment :

Amend by striking out sections 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
Which was read and adopted.
Said bill was then read the second time.

Also, from the same Committee, to whom was referred
House bill entitled an Act to amend the Act of 1867, chapter
341, relating to the valuation and assessment of property in
this State, reported it without amendment.

Said bill was then read the second time.

Also, from the same Committee, to whom was referred
House bill entitled an Act to add the following sections to
Article 75 of the Code, sub-title "Practice," to come in after

section 58, reported it without amendment.

Said bill was then read the second time.

Also, from the same Committee, to whom was referred
House bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to

pay the claim of A. O. Matthews, reported it without
amendment.

Said bill was then read the second time.

Also, from the same Committee, to whom was referred
House bill entitled an Act for the relief of Richard S. Mer-
cer, and to pay to P. W. Grain and N. C. Stephen, assignees
in bankruptcy of Thos. F. Bowie, a sum of money errone-
ously paid into the Treasury by Thos. F. Bowie on account
of storage on tobacco, reported it without amendment.

Mr. Miller, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to whom was referred House bill entitled an Act to repeal
section 13, of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Land-
lord and Tenant," sub-title "Distress for Rent," and to re-
enact the same with an amendment, reported it without
amendment.

Said bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to whom was
referred House bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
