Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

Mr. Henkle, from the Select Committee, to whom was re-
ferred House bill entitled an Act to prohibit the issuing of
any license for the sale of spirituous or fermented liquors at
or within one mile of Holly Grove, in Baltimore county, and
to prevent the sale of all kinds of intoxicating drinks within
the above described limits, reported it without amendment.

Said bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Clarke moved paid bill be read the third time this
day.

The yeas and nays were called as required by section 27, of
Article 3, of the Constitution, and appeared, as follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. President, Malone,
Browne, Miller,
Clarke, Parker,
Fields, Sellman,
Grove, Snyder,
Henkle, Spates,
Henry, Timmons,
Hyland, Wilson—16.

NEGATIVE—Mr. Maddox—1.

So two-thirds of all the Senators elected having voted in
the affirmative, said bill was read the third time and passed
by yeas and nays, as follows:

Mr. Miller, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to whom was referred House bill entitled an Act to authorize
the Governor to appoint nine additional Justices of the Peace
for St. Mary's county, reported it unfavorably,

And the report was adopted.
