style and title of Mount Hope Retreat, in Balti-
more County, with power to them and their suc-
cessors to adopt a common seal, and the same to
alter and change; and by said corporate name to
sue and be sued, implead and be irupleaded, and
to take and hold all such property, real, personal

and mixed, as they may deem necessary, for carrying
into effect the institution mentioned in the pre-
amble to this Act; and the same to sell, exchange
or otherwise dispose of, and in general to do, per-
form and suffer with reference to the purposes of
their incorporation, all acts and things which may
lawfully be done, performed and suffered by a
natural person.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That said corporation
or a majority of the members thereof shall have
full power to make a system of rules and regula-
tions, under the name of constitution and by-laws,
not inconsistent with the laws of the State or the
laws of the United States, for the management of
the affairs of said corporation, and the same to
alter and amend, abrogate and annul whenever
they may think proper, and to do all other neces-
sary acts and things which may be lawfully done
for the good order, government and prosperity of
said corporation.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act
shall take effect from the date of its passage.
