and cars, with or without passengers and freight,
between the aforesaid points,tupon the terms and
conditions and payments contained and prescribed
in the fourth Section of the Ordinance of the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, approved
on the twenty-ninth day of May, eighteen hun-
dred and sixty-nine, entitled "An Ordinance to
authorize the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad
Company to make certain uses of the Streets in
the City of Baltimore in the construction of said
Railroad within the limits of the city."

Sec. 8. Be it enacted, That the Baltimore and
Potomac Railroad Company be and they are here-
by authorized to alter or change the location of
their said Road, or any branch thereof, outside of
the limits of Baltimore City, for the purpose of
improving the gradient and avoiding unnecessary
curves, where they occur on said Road, or the
branches thereof, and for the purpose of securing
a shorter or more advantageous route than the
one which may have been located, provided, the
said Company, in making the said changes or
alterations, shall not cause the said Road to di-
gress from any of the fixed points designated in

the original Charter, as denning the route of said
Road or its branches; and in making such changes
or alterations of the location of the Road or its
branches, the said Company shall have and exer-
cise all the power conferred by the Act of Incor-
poration, or by this Act, for the purpose of orig-
inally locating and constructing said Road.

Sec. 9. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from and after the date of its passage,
and the General Assembly reserves to itself the
right to alter, amend, or repeal this Act at
pleasure.
