State Legislatures, and also devises and bequests,
annuities and gifts of all personal property to aid
in the burial of the remains of the dead hereinbe-
fore mentioned, in enclosing and ornamenting the
grounds in which the said remains shall be
interred, and maintaining the same, and erecting
a monument or monuments therein.

Sec. 6. And be it enacted, That the grounds
and all other property, which shall come into the
hands of said Trustees and their successors by gift,
devise, or otherwise, shall be forever free from any
county tax, and the State of Maryland hereby
releases and exempts the said Board of Trustees
from the payment of any taxes whatever on any
and all property which may come into their hands,
for the purposes of this Act, which might be im-
posed by existing laws, or any laws to be here-
after passed.

Sec. 7. And be it enacted, That the said Board
of Trustees shall give bond to the State of Mary-
land in double the probable amount of money that
may come into their hands at any time during their
term of office, with two or more sufficient securi-
ties, for the faithful discharge of their duties, and
correct accounting for all monies which shall come
to their hands by virtue of the provisions of this
Act, said bond to be approved by a Judge of the
Circuit Court of Saint Mary's County, and recorded
in the Clerk's office of said County.

Sec. 8. And be it enacted, That the said Board
of Trustees shall adopt such by-laws, rules and
regulations as they may deem necessary for their
meetings and the government of their officers,
agents and employees, and for the care and protec-
tion of the burial grounds aforesaid, said by-laws,
rules and regulations to be consistent with the laws
of this State; and the said Board of Trustees shall
hold their first meeting at Leonard Town, in Saint
Mary's County, on the first Tuesday in May next,

by electing one of their number President; they
shall also appoint a Secretary, whose term of office
shall be fixed by said Board of Trustees, and they
shall have further power to employ such other offi-
cers, agents and employees as may be needful, and
to fix their pay.
