LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Make report.

Sec. 9. And be it enacted, That the said Board
of Trustees shall, on or before the thirty-first day
of December, eighteen hundred and seventy, and
annually thereafter, make a report of the condition
and management of said burial ground and enclo-
sure, which report shall contain a detailed state-
ment of their receipts and expenditures, and an
authenticated copy thereof shall be forwarded to
the Comptroller of the State.

Comptroller to
issue warrant.

Sec. 10. And be it enacted, That the money
appropriated by this Act shall from time to time be
paid over upon the warrant of the Comptroller to
the Board of Trustees aforesaid, upon their requi-
sition to him stating the amount required, and the
particular purposes for which it is to he used.

Tenure of of-
fice.

Sec. 11. And be it enacted, That the tenure of
office of the said Board of Trustees shall be for life
or during good behavior, that a quorum shall con-
sist of four members of said Board, and in case of
vacancy occurring in said Board by death, resigna-
tion, or otherwise, the surviving Trustees shall
have power to fill said vacancy by appointing
thereto a citizen of Saint Mary's County.

Injure burial
ground.

Sec. 12. And be it enacted, That any person who
shall wilfully destroy, mutilate, injure or remove
any tomb, monument or grave stone, or other struc-
ture placed in said burial ground, or any fence,
railing or other work for the protection or orna-
ment of said ground, or shall wilfully destroy, cut,
break, or remove any tree, plant or shrub within
its limits, on due proof thereof shall he deemed
guilty of misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof
before any Justice of the Peace shall be punished by

the aggravation of the offence, not less than five
nor more than fifty dollars, to be collected as small
debts are collectable, and to he paid over to the
said Board of Trustees, for the repairs of the enclo-
sure around said burial ground, or any other pur-
pose connected with the same.

In force.

Sec. 13. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
