and that the Chief Clerk of the House forward a copy of this
order to the several Boards of County Commissioners afore-
said.

Which was read.

The question then recurring upon the adoption of the
order,

On motion of Mr. Gatch,

The further consideration thereof was postponed, and the
order made the order of the day for to-morrow at one o'clock.

Mr. Colton (the rules being 'suspended) submitted the fol-
lowing order:

Ordered, That the Building Committee be directed to con-
struct or open a door-way from the Rotunda to the room oc-
cupied by the Committee on Claims, to be used by members
and officers only of the Senate and House of Delegates,

Which was adopted.

The Speaker laid before the House the following communi-
cation, together with the accompanying report:

BALTIMORE, January 18, 1870.
Hon. F. C. LATROEE,

Speaker of the House of Delegates:

Dear Sir : I submit herewith the report of the Police Com-
missioners of Baltimore City for the years 1868-'69.
Respectfully,

LEFEVRE JARRETT,

President of the Board.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on the Judiciary.

Mr. Gateh moved that the House take a recess for 'twenty
minutes.

Decided in the negative.

The tellers appointed on the part of theHouse, to count the
ballot for Treasurer, accompanied by the tellers appointed on
the part oi the Senate now returned, and through their
Chairman, submitted the following

REPORT.

The Committee appointed by the Senate and Houae of Dele-
gates to count the vote for Treasurer of Maryland, beg leave
to report that on Tuesday, January 18th, 1870, after the
votes of the Senate had been deposited in the ballot box of the
Senate, and before the House of Delegates had completed its
second ballot, the Senate adjourned. The box containing
