.NEGATIVE—None.
Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.
Mr. Fields was excused from voting on said bill.
The Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower
the Register of the City of Baltimore to pay to Sprigg Harwood, the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Anne Arundel county,
a sum of money to be by him applied to the payment of the
jurors for their attendance in the case of the State of Mary-
land vs. E. G. Wharton,
Being on its second reading,
Mr. Tuck submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 1, line 1, strike out after "Maryland" all to the
words "out of" in line 3, and insert, "The Mayor and City
Council be, and they are hereby, authorized and empowered,
in their discretion."
Which was adopted.
The question being,
"Shall this bill be substituted for the unfavorable report of
the Committee?"
It was determined in the negative, as follows :
AFFIRMATIVE.
