Leave was granted to Mr. Dunken McPherson to with-
draw his petition.
The Senate bill to repeal, amend and re-enact section 143,
of Public General Laws, title "Chancery," subtitle "Testi-
mony and Witnesses,"
Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
The Senate bill relating to set-off in certain cases against
the State,
Was read the third time, .and passed by yeas and nays, as
follows :

Section 1, line 4, after the word "ton," insert of "2240
pounds."
Section 2, line 6, after "ton," insert of "2240 pounds."
Section 3, line 15, strike out "2000," and insert "2240
