CHAP. 24.

                                LAWS OF MARYLAND,

of the old road leading from New-Market to Marche's lane as runs
through their farms; and a number of the citizens of said county,
residing in the neighbourhood of the said petitioners, have certified
that they are acquainted with the subject of the said petition, and
are of opinion that the same is reasonable, and the prayer thereof
ought to be granted; therefore,

A certain road authorised
to be
stopped up.
    2.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the said William Thomas and John Carvil Hynson be and they are
hereby authorised to stop up so much of the old public road leading
from New-Market to Marche's lane as runs through the farms of
the said William Thomas and John Carvil Hynson, junior.

                                      CHAP. XXV.
An Act to authorise and empower the Levy Court of Baltimore County
    to assess and levy a sum of money for the purpose therein mentioned.

Preamble.     WHEREAS Nicholas Ryland, and Mary his wife, of Baltimore
county, by their petition to this general assembly hath set forth,
that he, the said Ryland, is now upwards of eighty-four years of
age; that he has been confined to his bed for twelve years past with
rheumatic pains; that his limbs are drawn up and distorted from
their usual shape, insomuch that he is unable to procure a subsistence;
that he devoted the early part of his life to the service of
his country, during the war called Braddock's, and that he there
suffered much; and that Mary Ryland, wife to the said Nicholas, is
now upwards of seventy-four years of age, very infirm, and much
afflicted with the palsy, and thereby rendered incapable of obtaining
the smallest pittance for her support, and praying that a law
may pass authorising the levy court of Baltimore county to levy a
sum of money on the assessable property of said county for their
support; and the same appearing reasonable, therefore,
Levy authorised 
for support of
Nicholas and Mary
Ryland.
    2.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the levy court of Baltimore county shall be and are hereby directed
and empowered, at their levy courts annually, so long as they shall
see cause, to assess and levy on the assessable property of said
county a sum of money, not exceeding sixty dollars, for the support
and maintenance of the said Nicholas Ryland, and Mary Ryland
his wife, and that the same be collected and paid annually by the
collector or collectors of Baltimore county, agreeable to the order of
the levy court aforesaid.

An Act to lay out and open a certain Road in Harford County.  Lib.

Preamble.     WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly, by the petition
of sundry inhabitants of Harford county, that the convenience
of the public would be greatly promoted by the laying out and opening
the said road; therefore,
Commissioners appointed
to lay out
a road.
    2.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
William Glenn, Shadrick Rutledge and Joshua Guyton, be and
they are hereby appointed commissioners, to lay out and open a
road, beginning on the main road at Matthew Wiley's mill, on Deer
creek, and from thence by the widow Barret's and Andrew Turner's
till it intersects the public road leading from Black Hall to Myer's
