mill, in the straightest and best direction that the nature of the 
ground will admit; and the said road, when so laid out and opened,
shall for ever hereafter be deemed and taken to be a public highway,
and kept in repair as other public roads in said county.

CHAP. 26.

    3.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said commissioners, or a majority
of them, shall and they are hereby directed and required to
make, or cause to be made a plot of the said road, and shall make
return of said plot, together with a certificate of the courses of said
road, to the clerk of Harford county, to be recorded among the
land records of said county.

    4.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the levy court of said county, at
the time of laying the next levy for said county, or at any time
within six months after the said road shall be laid out, shall appoint
an overseer or overseers to open the aforesaid road, and shall
levy on the assessable property of said county such sum or sums of
money as they may deem necessary for the purpose of laying out
and opening the said road.

    5.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the commissioners appointed by
this act shall have an allowance of two dollars for every day they
shall severally attend in the discharge of the duties hereby empowered.

    WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly, by the petition
of Samuel Wright, of Queen-Anne's county, that an act, entitled,
An act for the benefit of Samuel Wright, of Queen-Anne's
county, will expire on the first day of January next:  And whereas
the reasons which induced the legislature to pass that act still exist;
therefore,
Preamble.
    2.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
an act, entitled, An act for the benefit of Samuel Wright, of Queen-Anne's
county, passed at November session, eighteen hundred and
three, * be and the same is hereby continued until the first day of
January, eighteen hundred and ten.

    Further continued by November 1809, ch. 172, and other annual continuing
acts.
