CHAPTER 290.
|
 
|
|
AN ACT to impower Joshua Wisner, " Senior,"
|
 
|
|
and Mary Ann Simpers, his step-daughter, both
|
 
|
|
of Carroll county, Maryland, to marry each the
|
 
|
|
other, and to legitimate their children.
|
 
|
|
WHEREAS. Joshua Wisner, " Senior," and Mary
|
 
|
|
Ann Simpers, his step-daughter, both of Carroll
|
Preamble.
|
|
county, Maryland, have been living together for a
|
 
|
|
long number of years; and,
|
 
|
|
WHEREAS, the said Joshua Wisner, " Senior," and
|
 
|
|
Mary Ann Simpers, desire to contract marriage, and
|
Preamble.
|
|
to legitimate their children; and,
|
 
|
|
WHEREAS, the only relief they can receive to at-
|
 
|
|
tain the desired end, is by an act of the General
|
Preamble.
|
|
Assembly; therefore,
|
 
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
 
|
|
Maryland, That Joshua Wisner, " Senior," and Mary
|
Authorized
|
|
Ann Simpers, his step-daughter, both of Carroll
|
and empow-
ered.
|
|
county, Maryland, are hereby authorized and em-
|
 
|
|
powered to contract marriage together, and marry
|
 
|
|
each the other, on procuring such marriage license
|
 
|
|
as is now required by law of other persons; and any
|
 
|
|
person having authority by law to celebrate the
|
 
|
|
rites of marriage, is hereby empowered to celebrate
|
 
|
|
the rites of marriage between the said Joshua
|
 
|
|
