Scales, located at the corner of Buren and Monu-

ment streets, to remove thereto, and perform such
|
 
|
|
duties as are now required of the Weigher, and re-
|
 
|
|
ceive the same for the inspection or weighing of
|
 
|
|
hay and straw or other products as are now allowed.
|
 
|
|
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That upon comple-
|
 
|
|
tion of the aforesaid scales, the commissioners shall
|
 
|
|
advertise the scales, building and lot of the present
|

and Monument streets, for public auction at least
|
 
|
|
ten days, in at least two of the daily newspapers
|
 
|
|
published in Baltimore city, and shall sell the same
|

at public auction to the highest bidder for cash;
|
 
|
|
provided, however, that the said commissioners shall
|

have the power to withdraw the said property if in

|
their judgment the highest bid therefor is below the
|
 
|
|
real value of the property, and upon the payment of
|
 
|
|
the purchase money by the purchaser or purchasers,
|
 
|
|
the commissioners, or a majority of them, are here-
|
 
|
|
by empowered to make deed for the same, and after
|
 
|
|
paying the advertising and commission of sale, shall
|
 
|
|
return the balance to the Treasurer of the State.
|
 
|
|
SEC. 4. Be it enacted, On fulfillment of all the
|
 
|
|
duties, required by this act, the Comptroller shall
|

dollars to each of the commissioners for their services.

|
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the sum of money
|

|
hereby appropriated, seven thousand dollars shall
