and sixteen, entitled an act to authorize the appoint-

ment of a commissioner to take testimony, to pro-

vide for the recording of copies of wills and other

papers of which the originals were lost by the burn-

ing of the Court House in Dorchester county, and to
|
|
 
|
remedy, as far as practicable, the evils likely to ensue
|
|
 
|
from the destruction of the records of said county,
|
|
 
|
be and the same is hereby continued in force until
|
|
 
|
the first day of January, eighteen hundred and
|
|
 
|
eighty.

|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take

CHAPTER 376.
|
|
 
|
AN ACT to establish a free bridge over the Patapsco
|
|
 
|
River, between Anne Arundel and Baltimore
|
|
 
|
counties, on or near the present site of Sweetzer's
|
|
 
|
Bridge.
|
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
 
|
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Anne
|
|
Authorized,
directed and
|
Arundel county, and they are hereby authorized,
|
|
required.
|
directed and required to purchase from its owners
|
|
 
|
the bridge over the Patapsco River, known as
|
|
 
|
" Sweetzer's Bridge," some time prior to the first
|
|
 
|
day of June, eighteen hundred and seventy-six, upon
|
|
 
|
such terms and conditions as to them may appear
|
|
 
|
most judicious, and to maintain and keep the same
|
|

in repair as a free bridge; provided, that the entire
|
|
 
|
cost of said bridge, together with all the necesssary
|
|
 
|
lands, causeways, abutments, buildings or other ap-
|
|
 
|
purtenances, shall not exceed the sum of twelve
|
|
 
|
thousand dollars.
|
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That if the said
