CHAPTER 385.

 

AN ACT to authorize and direct the Attorney

 

General of the State of Maryland to institute pro-

 

ceedings to forfeit the charter of the Gwynn's

 

Falls Bridge Company of the Washington Road.

 

WHEREAS, it has been represented to the General

 

Assembly by the memorials of many citizens of the

Preamble.

State, that the charter or franchises of the Gwynn's

 

Falls Bridge Company of the Washington Road,

 

incorporated by Act of Assembly, eighteen hundred

 

and sixty-seven, chapter two hundred and sixteen,

 

hath been forfeited by unjust discrimination in their

 

toll-rates, and by other wrongs inflicted upon the

 

community by said company; and that said bridge

 

should be free for public travel, by the terms of its

 

charter, because of the accumulation of the sinking

 

fund therein provided for; therefore,

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

 

Maryland, That the Attorney General of the State

 

of Maryland be, and he is hereby authorized, and
