SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That whenever it may

be desirable to have any street or avenue, which.

present terminus, the owner or owners of a majority

of front feet of ground bounding and fronting on

any portion of said street or avenue, as laid off, and

make application to the County Commissioners of

Baltimore county, in writing, setting forth the

|
street or avenue that they desire to be extended,
|
 
|
|
and the line, approximate distance, and point of
|
 
|
|
termination of such proposed extension; and when
|
 
|
|
said application is presented, the said county com-

missioners shall appoint one examiner or three

whose duty it shall be to lay off and extend said
|
 
|
|
streets or avenue in accordance with said application

and the provisions of this act; but said street or

|
|
avenue shall be laid off and extended in conformity

|
with the streets and avenues of Baltimore city, and
|
 
|
|
with the streets and avenues already laid off in Bal-
|
 
|
|
timore county, so far as practicable; and before any
|
 
|
|
examiner or examiners shall proceed to act in the
|
 
|
|
premises, he or they, as the case may be, shall take
|
 
|
|
an oath or affirmation before some justice of the
|
 
|
|
peace of the State of Maryland, in and for Baltimore
|
