HONORABLE SIR:

We herewith submit a report of cases heard and decisions rendered by the State Appeal Board
under the Alcoholic Beverages Laws for the fiscal year beginning July 1st, 1956 and ending June 80,
1956.

In Somerset and Worcester Counties the Board acts as hearing officers, their decision being sub-
ject to appeal to the Circuit Court of these counties. No appeals were taken from the decisions of
this board in these counties during the past fiscal year.

Bi-monthly meetings are held by the State Appeal Board to render decisions in cases heard; to
discuss pending canes; to set cases for re-hearing so as to afford parties an opportunity to present
additional evidence, etc.; and, where appropriate, to arrange for personal inspection of licensed
premises, or of premises proposed to be licensed.
