1917, ch. 15, sec. 629C.
629C. The Governor of the State may from time to time, at the
request of the authorities having control and jurisdiction over the jail
of any other town or city or of any county in this State, assign to work
upon said farm as many of the prisoners confined in the jails under
their respective jurisdiction as are physically able to work on said farm
and as are available for such work.

629D. The State Board of Prison Control shall provide for the
guarding, transportation, lodging, feeding, clothing and medical and
other care and attention of all such prisoners, or make such arrange-
ments therefor as it may deem adequate and proper; and may make
such rules and regulations as may be necessary or proper to carry out
the provisions of sections 629A to 629J.

629E. The State Board of Prison Control may set aside for each
prisoner working upon said State farm, such sum as it may deem
proper, not exceeding, however, the sum of fifty cents per day for each
and every day that such prisoner is so employed; and the Board may
hold such payments to the credit of the prisoner for whose account the
same are made, and pay the same to him or her upon his or her release
or discharge; or the said Board may, in its discretion, from time to
time, pay such portion of said payments as it may deem proper to any
person or persons who are dependent upon said prisoner, if found to
be in need by the said Board, and hold the balance of such payments
to the credit of the prisoner. The Board may make such rules and
regulations with respect to the disbursement of said payments as may
be necessary or proper.

629F. All prisoners working upon said State farm under sections
629A to 629J, shall be entitled to the same deductions or allowances
for good behavior, observance of discipline and rules and for diligent
and faithful labor, and shall be subject to the same forfeitures or pun-
ishments for the lack or violation thereof, as such prisoners are now
entitled to or are subject to under the laws of this State; and in addi-
tion to such forfeitures or punishments any prisoner employed on said
State farm who escapes or attempts to escape shall be guilty of a mis-
demeanor, and shall be confined for an additional term, in the discre-
tion of the court, not exceeding one-half of the entire term for which
such prisoner had been sentenced prior to his or her escape or attempted
escape; or such prisoner shall in the discretion of the Court, be subject
to any penalties which may be by law provided for prisoners escaping
or attempting to escape from the institution to which he or she had
previously been committed.
