ALMSHOUSE.
Chapter 293 adds the following:
SEC. 1. The County Commissioners of Baltimore county are
hereby authorized and required to appoint a Visitor of the
Almshouse, now under the charge of the "Trustees of the
Poor of Baltimore city," which appointment shall be made at
their first meeting in March, eighteen hundred and sixty-four,
and at the same time annually thereafter.
2. It shall be the duty of said Visitor to visit the aforesaid
Almshouse at least once in each week, for the purpose of super-
intending the condition of the Almshouse property and the
paupers belonging to said county, and boarded in the aforesaid
institution, under a contract made between the County Com-
missioners of Baltimore county, and the "Trustees of the Poor
of Baltimore city."
3. For the purpose of enabling said Yisitor to perform the
duties prescribed by this act, he shall be allowed free access to
all the books and accounts of said institution which in anywise
appertain to the property and paupers aforesaid.
4. Said Visitor shall be allowed a salary of one hundred and
fifty dollars per annum, payable quarterly, and he shall be
allowed the sum of fifty dollars for like services performed
during the years eighteen hundred and sixty-two and three, by
and under the appointment of the County Commissioners afore-
said.
