PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY. [ART. 16.
ELECTIONS.

1861, c. 81 adds the following:

Place of hold-
ing in election
district, No 6.

59. All elections, hereafter to be held in the sixth
election district of Prince George's county, shall be
held in the village of Long Old Fields, in said dis-
trict, at such place as the judge of elections shall
appoint.
In force from August 1, 1S61.

JAIL.

1866, c. 99 repeals 1864, c. 55 which authorized the repair or re-building of the
jail of Prince George's county and provides, that the commissioners and the state's
attorney of Prince George's county are authorized, in their discretion, to re-build or
repair the county jail of said county, a ad that they shall have power, if deemed
necessary by them, to sell and convey the present jail building and lot of ground,
either at public or private sale, and to purchase any other site proper for the loca-
tion of a new jail.; or to repair or re-build the present jail, m whole or in part, in
their discretion, and in case they shall decide to sell the present J ail and lot afore-
said, the proceeds shall be applied by them toward the purchase of another lot and
the other improvements hereby authorized; provided, that the whole cost of execu-
ting this act shall not exceed eight thousand dollars. That the said commission-
ers and state's attorney are empowered to enter into any contracts that may be
necessary to carry out the purposes of this act. That any sum heretofore levied
under the act of eighteen hundred and sixty-four, chapter fifty-five, shall be
payable by the collectors of said county, in whose hands the same was placed, to
the order of said county commissioners, and shall be applied by them to the purpose
of this act; and said county commissioners shall, in addition to such sum make
each further and additional levies in the years eighteen hundred and sixty-six
and eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, as may be necessary to carry out the fore-
going provisions.
