SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Mayor and


City Council of Baltimore be and they are hereby


authorized and empowered to provide for the im-


provement and maintenance and regulation of said

CHAPTER 365.


AN ACT to appropriate the sum of three hundred


and ten dollars and twenty-two cents, to pay the


claim of Bartlett, Robbins & Co., against the


State.


WHEREAS the State of Maryland is justly and
bona fide indebted unto Bartlett, Robbins and Com-


pany, of Baltimore city, for work done and materials


furnished for the steam heating apparatus at the


State House, upon the order of the Board of Public


Works, and for which there appears to be no funds

Preamble

at the disposal of said board out of which to pay the
same; and whereas the correctness of the said


indebtedness is certified to by Ex-Governor Carroll,


as the president of said board, and its payment


recommended, and the same has been referred to


this General Assembly by Comptroller Keating, as
required by section fifty-two, article three, of the


Constitution of the State ; therefore,
