CHAPTER 372.


AN ACT to transfer the sum of money appropri-


ated by chapter three hundred and eighty-three,


section one, acts of General Assembly of eigh-


teen hundred and seventy, to the Elkton and


Masseys Railroad Company, from said company,


to the Elkton and Middletown Railroad Company


of Cecil county.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly


of Martyland, That the sum of fifty-eight thousand
dollars, appropriated by chapter three nundred and

Masseys Railroad Company, be and the same is


hereby transferred to the Elkton and Middletown


Railroad Company of Cecil county, incorporated


under the general railroad law passed by the Gen-


eral Assembly at its session in eighteen hundred and


seventy ; and as soon as it shall appear to the Gov-


ernor, by the affidavit of the president of said Elkton


and Middletown Railroad Company of Cecil county,


that bona fide subscriptions to the capital stock of


said company, equal to the subscription on the part


of the State by this act authorized and directed, has


been actually made, the Treasurer of this State shall


be and is hereby authorized and directed, in the


name and on behalf of this State, to subscribe for so

many shares of the capital stock of said company as

said company, and the Treasurer shall, out of any


unappropriated money in the treasury, pay the in-
stalments on each share of the capital stock of said


company for which he may subscribe as aforesaid on


the warrant of the Comptroller, which latter officer


is hereby directed to issue, as said instalments may


be called for, agreeable to the provisions of the act


of assembly passed in eighteen hundred and seventy,


chapter four hundred and seventy-six, entitled "An


act to provide for the creation and regulation of in-


corporated companies in the State of Maryland,"
