and under which the said Elkton and Middletown

Railroad of Cecil county is incorporated; provided

that the Treasurer shall not, at any time, pay upon

the State's subscription to the capital stock of said

company a greater amount than shall have been

actually paid by other subscribers to the capital

stock of said company.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the State shall

be entitled to two directors in said road, the said

State Directors to be appointed in the same manner

as the directors in all other works of internal im-

provements are appointed, where the State has the

legal power to appoint directors.

acts repealed.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of
acts inconsistent with this act be and the same are
hereby repealed.

Effective.

SEC 4 Be it enacted, That this act shall take

effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact chapter four hun-

dred and thirty-nine of the acts of eighteen hun-

dred and seventy-four, entitled "An act to regu-

late the issuing of licenses for the sale of spiritu-

ous and fermented liquprs in this State."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-

bly of Maryland, That chapter four hundred and
