Maryland Sc. Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Cale of Somerset County in the Province of
Maryland Sawyer doe owe & Stand indebted, unto Richard: ffarewell of the Same County & Province --
of Maryland Merchant, in the full & just Sum or quantity of thirteen hundred and fifty foot of good Mertble
Cypresse or Pine plank Inch Sawn, or in lieu thereof Eight hundred pounds of good Merchantable leafe
tobacco in Caske to Containe the Same, and also Sixty one pounds of good Mertable leaf tobacco besides
due to be paid unto the said Richard ffarewell his Heirs Execcutors Admrs or Assigns on or before the tenth
day of October now next ensueing the date hereof, it being for a valuable Consideration already recd
to the which payment well & truly to be made & done. I bind my Self my Heirs Extors & Admrs firmly
by these presents. In wittness whereof I have hereunto Sett my hand and Seal this 26th:day of July --
Anno Domini 1690. The plank to be delivered at Some Landing in Pocomoke River.
