These presents Wittnesseth that I Lawrence: Crawford of Somerset County Merchant have and by these presents, bargain and Sell and deliver unto Walter Taylor of the same County Planter One Bay Mare called Jonnie branded W on the near buttock with a Sprigg tail And one two year old maer a dim bay come of the same maer also one yearling horse come of the same maer to have and to hold the said Creatures with all their increase wth warranty from the claim of any person or persons whatsoever pretending or to pretend any claim unto any of the sd Creatures maers or horse and all being allready delivered, for the Consideration of two thousand three hundred pounds of tobacco in witness my hand and Seal April ye 21th day 1690 Lawrence: Crawford Sealed marke Teste Heugh : Oconogh Margerett: Read marke. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ This Indenture made the thirteenth day of January in the Second year of their Maties Reigne William and Mary by the grace of God of England Scotland ffrance & Ireland King & Queene defendrs. of y faith &c and in the year of our Lord God one Thousand Six hundred and Ninety Betweene John Dorman of Somerset County in the Province of Maryland plantr: and Sarah his wife of the one part and John - West of the Same County and Province of the other party Wittnesseth That the Said - John Dorman & Sarah his wife for and in Consideration of three thousand pounds of tobacco to them in hand paid by the Said John West before the ensealing and delivery - hereof the receipt whereof they doe hereby acknowledge accordingly and themselves - therewith fully Satisfied have graunted bargained Sold aliened enfeofed & Confirmed And by these presents doe fully Clearly & absolutely grant bargaine Sell enfeoffe and Confirme unto the aboveSd: John West and to his heires for Ever all that Tract parcell devident of Land Called Beech and Pine Scituate Lyeing & being in Somersett County on the east Side of Chesepiake bay about Two miles from the SouthSide of Back Creeke in Manoakin at the head of Phillip Berryes and Nicholas ffountains Land bounded as ffolloweth beginnning at a marked Beech Standing by the Road wch: goeth from the head of Back Creeke to y North Side of Annemessex River thence with a Line drawne Southeast Two hundred & forty perches to a marked white oake thence with a Line drawne Southwest Sixty Seaven perches to a Red oake Thence with a Line drawne Northwest Two hundred & fourty pearches thence with a Line drawne to the first bounder Conteyning & now laid out for one hundred acres of Land more or less according the Citty of to the Certificate the the third day of November one thousand Six hundred eighty five and there remayning upon record wch: Said one hundred acres of Land and all & every the wayes proffitts Comodities & appurtenances whatsoever to the said Land belonging or in any wise appertaining and all Deedes Pattents writings & Evidences whatsoever belonging to the Said one hundred acres of Land Called Beech & Pine ~ ~ To have and to hold the Said Land & premises with the appurtenances herein or hereby men tioned or intended to be granted bargained & Sold unto the Said John West his heires & assignes And the Said John Dorman for himselfe his heires executors & admrs: and for the said Sarah his wife |
