   The Totall proceedings herein being this day Considered by the Justices aforesd do find no Cause of accon and therefore

John Rowell Defend^t and whereupon the Sd John: Strawbridge by his Attorney Robert Pirrie Comes and

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~      Saith that whereas the Said John: Rowell within the Jurisdiction of this Court in y^e year of o^r

                                                      Lord 1692 and 1693 became indebted unto the sd John Strawbridge in the full & just quantity of

Or Sum of One thousand Eight hundred & Seventy pounds of good Sound Merchantable tobacco & Caske as may & doth more plainly appear

by Certain Writeings & accompts here produced in Court under the hand & Seal of the sd John:Rowell bearing date in the year 1692 & in the

year 1693. as aforesd wherein the Said John Rowell doth bind himself his Heirs & Adm^rs firmly to pay unto the sd John: Strawbridge

his Heirs Extors or Assigns the said Sum of Eighteen hundred & Seventy lb of tobacco But he the Said John Rowell litle regarding

his promise & assumption fraudulently & Craftily intending him the sd John:Strawbridge to deceive & defraud of the aforesd Sum

of 1870^lb Of tobacco, denieth & still doth deny to pay the Same although often thereunto required wherefore the plt Saith that he is

damnified & hath damage to the value of 3740 lbs of tobacco & Caske And thereupon he brings this Sute.

This bindeth me John: Rowell of Somerset County in the Province of Maryland Shoemaker to pay or Cause to be paid well &

truely paid unto John: Ellis Senior & Thomas Ellis both of the Same & Province aforesd the full & just quantity

number of Six paire of good Sufficient Mens ffrench fall Shoes. And the Said John:Rowell doth bind my Self to pay

all the Court Charges that is due for two accons that was Comenced agt me for the sd Six pair of Shoes to the which payment

well & truly to be made & done I the Said John: Rowell doth bind me my Heirs Extors & Adm^rs to pay unto the Sd John: Ellis

& Thomas Ellis their Heirs Extors or Assigns y^e aforesd Six paire of shoes & the Court Charges aforesd upon demand in Witness
