You shall Swear that well and truely you will Serve their Maties King William & Queen Mary and the People of the Province of Maryland as one of their Maties Coroners of this County of Somerset and herein you shall dilligently and truely doe and accomplish all and every thing and things — appertaining to ye sd office after ye best of yr Skill & power both for their Maties Profitt & the good of ye Inhabitants in the Said County & be Content with the fees allowed by Act of Assembly in this Province So help yw God. //
The abovesd Oath of Coroner was Administered to Capt. John: King & mr John: Browne who first took the Oath of Allegiance and abhorence. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The County Levy was this day laid & found to be 36. lb of tobacco pr Poll. the publick 142. Totall 178: // pr Poll. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ — ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ William Clarke Mr Tho: Jones Plt. Somerset Ss // of Lewes Towne near the Whorekill Extor of all & Singular the goods Chattels Wm Clarke &ca Dfts} and Credits of Henry Bowman late of the Same place deceased was attached to answer unto ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ mr Thomas Jones of this County in an accon of the Case . — And whereupon the sd Thomas By Samuel Alexander his Attorney Saith that the Said Henry in his life time that is to Say on ye 2d day of May in the year of our Lord 1692 was indebted unto him the Said Thomas in the full Sum of One thousand pounds of tobacco it being in Consideration of a debt which one Edward Bornbridge did owe unto the Said Thomas, which he the Said Henry by the Order of the Said Thomas did received from the Said Edward and the Same did Convert to his owne use in Consideracon of which he the Said Henry did upon himself assume and to the Said Thomas did faithfully promise that he the Said Sum of 1000 lbs of tobacco to the Said Thomas would Satisfie and pay when thereunto requested but Nevertheless
