(3) [Act to promote more extensive use of Maryland-grown tobacco in
domestic and foreign markets;

(4)] Provide information to tobacco growers and the public concerning the
relation between prices received by tobacco producers and the general commodity price

level;

[(5) Conduct surveys among tobacco growers to determine their needs for
better and more efficient production, handling, and marketing of tobacco;] and

[(6)] (4) Circulate questionnaires or conduct advisory referenda to obtain
advice on the formulation of any policy matter within the scope of the Authority's
powers, the response to which need not be binding on the Authority.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1990.

AN ACT concerning

State Board of Well Drillers

FOR the purpose of continuing the State Board of Well Drillers in accordance with the
provisions of the Maryland Program Evaluation Act (Sunset Law) by extending to
a certain date the termination provision relating to the statutory and regulatory
authority of the Board and the regulation of well drillers; repealing statutorily set
fees and authorizing the Board to set reasonable fees necessary to carry out its
responsibilities; and generally relating to the regulation of the well drilling
industry.
