Council, be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments, so as to read as follows :
|
C H AP. 631.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the citizens of the town of
Hyattsville, in Prince George's county, be and they are
hereby created a body corporate, by the name of the "Mayor
and Common Council of Hyattsville," with all the powers and
privileges of a body politic and corporate, and by said corpor-
ate name may have perpetual succession, sue and be sued, plead
and be impleaded, in any Court of Law or Equity ; may have
and use a common seal ; may purchase and hold real, personal
and mixed property, and sell and dispose of same for the
benefit of the town.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the limits of said town
shall be as follows: Commencing at the centre of the eastern
branch of the Potomac river at its juncture with the north-
west branch, and running with the centre of the said northwest
branch westerly to its intersection with the west line of
R. P. Evans' addition, to Hyattsville extended, the same
being 375 feet from Carlton's Dam; thence running northerly
by said west line of said Evans' addition north 22 degrees 15
minutes east to a stone on the south side of the public road
leading to Washington, D. C., and known as the Old Bladens-
burg road; thence northerly to the western terminus of the
north line of Avalon avenue, as the same is laid down in the
sub-division known as Etlaville; thence easterly along said
northern line of Avalon avenue to the center of the Washing-
ton and Baltimore turnpike; thence with center line of said
turnpike southerly to its intersection with the southern line
of Riverdale extended; thence with said line easterly to
Washington branch of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad;
thence with the eastern boundary of said railroad right of
way southerly to the Alexandria junction of said railroad;
thence with the eastern boundary of the right of way of said
Alexandria branch road diverging eastward sufficiently to
include the property wherein the Wells' pumping-house, etc.,
are located, which belong to said town corporation, to the
center of the east branch of the eastern branch of the Potomac
river; thence with the centre of said eastern branch of the
Potomac river to the place of beginning.

SEC. 4. The male citizens of the said town of the age of
twenty-one years or upwards who shall possess the qnalitica-
tions of legally registered voters of this State, and who shall
have resided in said town for the space of six months next
preceding the first Monday in May, 1902, shall select on
that day, at such place as shall be selected for the holding of
elections, one person, a legal voter of said town, who has
