1442 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
Approved April 8, 1908.

CHAPTER 453.

AN ACT to repeal section 1 of chapter 474 of the Acts of 1906,
entitled An Act to incorporate the Highland Savings and
Trust Company, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ment.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 1 of chapter 474 of the Acts of 1906, entitled
An Act to incorporate the Highland Savings and Trust Com-
pany, be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
an amendment so as to read as follows :

SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Charles Schlaffer, George S. Mann, Charles W.
Nash, James M. Douglass, William T. Dietrich and William P.
Gordy, Jr., and their associates, successors and assigns, and
all other persons who may hereafter become stockholders in the
company hereby incorporated, shall be a body corporate, by the
name and style of the "Highland Savings and Trust Company,"
and by that name shall have perpetual succession, and sue
and be sued in any court whatever, and whose principal office
shall be in Baltimore county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 454.

AN ACT to incorporate the Washington and Maryland Elec-
tric Railway Company.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Horace Crosier, Samuel E. Cox, T. Van Clagett,
George S. Dove, F. Snowden Hill, George Zurhorst, of Prince
George's county, Maryland; Alfred Y. Shaw, Albert Gary and
Ernest Gerstenberg, of the District of Columbia, and their
successors in office are hereby created a body corporate, under
the name of the Washington and Maryland Electric Railway
Company; and the said incorporators are hereby constituted
and appointed the directors of said corporation. And they
shall have power at any time after the passage of this Act to
organize by the election of a president and such other officers
