such provision for the aid of Joanna Braden, widow of James
T, Braden, who was a fireman in the fire department of said
city and who was killed while in the discharge of his duty as
such fireman, and for the infant child of said deceased, as to
the said Mayor and City Council of Baltimore may seem
proper, such aid not to exceed the sum of five hundred dollars
($500) per annum for said widow and child.
SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 465.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments section four
(4) of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of
1807, chapter one hundred and ten (110), entitled An Act
to incorporate the contributors to the Baltimore General
Dispensary and to add an additional section thereto, to be
known as section eight (8).
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section four (4) of the Acts of the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, passed at its November session in the year
1807, known as chapter number one hundred and ten (110),and
entitled An Act to incorporate the contributors to the Balti-
more General Dispensary, be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted with amendments, as follows:
SEC 4. Be it enacted, That any male person who shall have
contributed as much as five dollars to the use of the corpora-
tion during the year preceding an election, shall be eligible to
election that year as a manager, and any male person who hath
at any time contributed, or who shall hereafter contribute the
sum of fifty dollars cash, or shall have served for a period of
five years continuously as a manager to the said institution
shall be considered, and he is hereby declared to be, during
life, a contributor, and as such, together with the individual
members of the board of managers, shall be those only entitled
to vote at all annual elections for managers to the said General
Dispensary; to recommend indigent poor to the care of the
institution, and to enjoy all other rights and privileges to
which contributors are or shall be entitled under this Act, and
under such by-laws as the managers may from time to time
make or establish.
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That the said institution shall not
be required to keep open for the treatment of diseases or the
