Queen Ann's County, relating to Justices of the
Peace and Constables.

Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That whenever a Justice
of the Peace, for said county shall issue a sum-
mons for a defendant residing in a different elec-
tion district, from the Justice issuing the sum-
mons, he shall transmit the papers, in said cause,
to some one Justice of the Peace, in the district,
where the defendant resides, who shall try the
same.

Sec: 3. Be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 136.

 

AN ACT to incorporate the President and Di-
rectors of the Baltimore and Pikesville Railroad
Company of Maryland.

Passed Feb.
26, 1864.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That, J. H. Hayward, Samuel Wil-
helm, Noah Walker, William Devries, James W.
Tyson and Julius Gehrman, be and they are here-
by appointed Commissioners to open books and
receive subscription to the capital stock of the
Baltimore and Pikesville Railroad Company,
hereby incorporated, and they, or a majority of
them, shall at any time within thirty days after
the passage of this agt procure a sufficient number
of suitable books, which shall be opened at such
time or times, place or places, as they may think
proper; in each of which said books shall be made
the following entry: We, whose names are here-
unto subscribed, do promise to pay to the Presi-
dent and Directors of the Baltimore and Pikesville
Railroad Company, the sum of twenty dollars for
each and every share of stock set opposite our re-
spective names, in such manner and proportion
and at such times as shall be determined by the.
President and Directors of the said company, in
