A. W. BRADFORD, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR

of St. John's Independent Methodist Protestant
Church, in the city of Baltimore," and by that
name they are hereby made able and capable in
law to sue and he sued, answer and be answered,
defend and be defended, in any Court of Law or
Equity, or before any Justice of the Peace of the
State of Maryland, or elsewhere; and also, to pur-
chase, take by gift, grant, devise or bequest, hold,
possess, retain and enjoy, to them and their suc-
cessors, any and every kind or description of pro-
perty, real or personal, in fee or for any less es-
tate, and whether the same be situate within or
without the State of Maryland, and the same or
any part thereof, in their discretion, to grant a
lien, convey, devise, or release, and to execute any
trust upon which property may be hereafter

granted, given devised or bequeathed, to them;
provided that the clear yearly value of the real
and personal property of the said corporation shall
not exceed twenty thousand dollars.

Proviso.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said corpora-
tion shall an.d may adopt a common seal, and the
same change at pleasure, meet, at such times and
places as they may appoint, form, establish and
put in execution, and again at their pleasure, from
time to time, repeal, change and modify such con-
stitution and by-laws, regulating the affairs of said
corporation and fixing the tenure of office and
mode of succession of the corporators or managers
thereof, as to them shall seem necessary or expe-
dient, the same not being repugnant to the laws of
Maryland or the Constitution of the United States,
and perform all other acts requisite or proper for
carrying out the objects and purposes of the asso-
ciation.

Management.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the net income
accruing to the said corporation from its property
and investments, with any donations, devises or
bequests which at any time shall be made to it for
the express purpose of distribution, and not for
permanent investment, shall be disposed of in con-
tributions, towards the curient income of Christian
and charitable organizations that may be in opera-
tion horn time to time, in aiding feeble Protestant
Evangelical Churches, Ministers of the Gospel,
with inadequate salaries, and worthy female mem-
bers of the Church of Christ, in needy circum-
