stances, and in carrying out any special plans in
connection with St. John's Methodist Protestant
Church, or otherwise, which they may devise; in
short, the net income shall be consecrated by the
said corporation in the sound, untrammelled judg-
ment and discretion of the managers, and in con-
formity to the constitution and by-laws, they may
adopt, to the furtherance of the cause of Christ
and of Christian philanthropy on the earth, after
the mode which in their judgment would be
adopted amid the varying circumstances of actual
life by an opulent Christian with a liberal heart
and a Catholic spirit, who appreciated the luxury
of doing good, yet recognized the duty of a dis-
creet beneficence.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That full right is at
all times reserved to the General Assembly to al-
ter, amend or repeal this act, and also at any time
to require the said corporation to report to the
Legislature the amount of its funds and the mode
of their investment and expenditure.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That this corporation
shall not be authorized to exercise banking privi-
leges, or to issue any note, token, device, scrip or
other evidence of debt, to be used as a currency.

In force.

Sec. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after the day of its passage.
