Issues forbid.

To enure for
SO years.

FRANCIS THOMAS, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That this corporation shall
not be permitted to issue any note, token, device, scrip or
evidence of debl, to be used as a currency.
Sec. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall enure for
thirty years, and the legislature reserves to itself the right
to change, alter or annul this act of incorporation at plea-
sure.

An act to extend the charter »f the Washington County
Bank, at Williamsport in Washington County.

Charter ex-
tended.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the act of incorporation of the Washing-
ton County Bank, at Williamsport, in Washington County-
passed at December session eighteen hundred and thirty-
one, chapter one hundred and thirty-three, and the several
supplements thereto, be and the same are hereby ex-
tended and continued in force until the first day of De-
cember, in the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty,
and to the end of the next session of the General Assembly

20 cents on
every $100.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said bank shall
continue to pay or cause to be paid, during the time afore-
said, to the Treasurer of the Western Shore, annually, the
sum of twenty cents on the amount of every hundred dol-
lars of the capital stock of said bank, actually paid in, as
provided in the seventeenth section of the said act of eigh-
teen hundred and thirty-one, chapter one hundred and thirty-
three, to be applied to the purpose in said section contained-

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the said bank shall be
subject to such restrictions in regard to the issue of its
bank notes-, and the denominations thereof as are or may
be presented by law, in relation to the issues of banks gen-
erally in this State.

elections to be
given in news-
papers.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the notices for elections
of directors and for general meetings of the stockholders
of said bank, shall be sufficient if published in such news-
paper or newspapers as may be published in Williamsport.
in two newspapers published in Hagers-town, and in one
newspaper published in the city of Baltimore.

Not exempt
from taxes.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That nothing herein con-
tained shall be so construed as to exempt the property of
said bank or of the stockholders thereof, which may be
