hay or straw, except hay in bundles, weighing thirty hun-
dred pounds and upwards, the inspectors shall receive
forty-five cents, and tor all loads weighing less, than thirty
hundred pounds, said inspector shall be entitled to receive
one and a half cents per one hundred pounds and no more.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the rate now requited
by law, for weighing hemp, cables, anchors, dye wood,
bark, roots, etcetia, be and the same is hereby reduced to
two cents per one Hundred pounds.

inconsistent with provisions of this act, be and the same are
hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 255.
|

An act for the erection of an additional election district in
Price George's County.
|

Whereas it is represented to this General Assembly, by
the memorial of sundry citizens of the third election dis-
trict in Prince George's county, that they are subjected to
great inconvenience from the size and extent of said district,
that the place of holding meetings and elections is so remote,
that they are unable to attend, without the most serious in-
convenience. Therefore,

Preamble.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Thomas Duckett, Fielder Cross and Richard C.
Bowie, be and they are hereby appointed commissioners to
lay off and divide said election district, and to determine
upon and designate some suitable house for holding the
elections in said district, and that the lines of said district
when laid off, and the house designated by them, shall be
returned to the clerk of the county, to be by him recorded
at the expenses of the county, and said district when laid
off, shall be known and designated as the seventh election
district of said county, and the said commissioners shall be
entitled to two dollars, for each and every day they shall
be employed in discharging the duties required by this act,
that upon the death or refusal to act of any one of the
commissioners, it shall be the duty of the levy court of said
county, to appoint another in his place.
