tax for Anne-Arundel county, for eighteen hundred and
forty-one, and collection of State tax for eighteen hundred
and forty-two, for the first collection district of Anne Arun-
del county, be and he is hereby authorized and empowered
to collect any taxes or balances of taxes, now remaining
due and uncollccted by him in said county and district, in
the same manner as he could or might have done within

the time limited by law.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Benjamin
T. Pindle, shall in every instance before he shall proceed
to the aforesaid collection, make affidavit before some jus-
tice of the peace for Anne Arundel county, that the same
remains due and unpaid, and that he hath not received any
part thereof other than the credits given.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this law shall be in
force for one year and no longer.

CHAPTER 263.
|

An act to increase the Bond of the Keeper of the Alms
House for Frederick county.
|

7, 1844.
|
|
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the levy court of Frederick county, be
and they are hereby authorized and directed to require the
keeper of the Alms House of said county, before he shall
enter upon the duties of his oflice, to give bond with secu-
rity to be approved by the said court, in the sum of one
thousand dollars, in lieu of the security he is now required
to give by the existing law.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take ef-
fect from and after the time of its passage.

An act relating to Horses and Carriages kept at Livery in
the city of Baltimore.

Section. I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act, it
shall be lawful for any livery stable keeper to retain in his
