2150 . Municipal Charters
BE IT ORDAINED, by the Mayor and Council of Gaithersburg, in pub-
lic meeting assembled, that Section 22 of the Charter of the City of Gaithers-
burg be and it hereby is amended to read as follows:
"22. Every person who (a) is a citizen of the United States, (b) is
at least eighteen years of age and (c) has had his domicile within the City
for six months next preceding any City election and (d) is registered in
accordance with this Charter, shall be a qualified voter of the City and en-
titled to vote at any City election."
I Hereby Certify that the foregoing Ordinance proposing amendment
to the City Charter was introduced by a vote of a majority of the Council
on November 1, 1971.

Resolution No. R-15-71
A Resolution authorizing the annexation by the City of Gaithers-
burg of approximately 57.2202 acres of land located to the northwest
of the present corporate boundaries and adjacent thereto extending
along the southwesterly side of Maryland Route 355.
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of Gaithersburg have received
a Petition consenting to the proposed enlargement of the corporate bound-
aries of the City of Gaithersburg so as to include an area encompassing
approximately 57.2202 acres of land located to the northwest of the pres-
ent corporate boundaries and adjacent thereto extending along the south-
westerly side of Maryland Route 355.
WHEREAS, the signatures of said Petition of Consent have been
verified and it has been ascertained that the persons signing said Petition
are owners of not less than twenty-five percentum (25%) of the assessed
valuation of the real property located in the area to be annexed and repre-
sent at least twenty-five percentum (25%) of the persons who reside in
the area to be annexed and who are registered as voters in County elec-
tions.
WHEREAS, from the provisions of Section 19(b) of Article 23(a)
of the Annotated Code of Maryland, 1957 Edition, as amended, it is manda-
tory that the following Resolution be introduced.
SECTION 1. BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and City Council of
Gaithersburg, that the Charter of the City of Gaithersburg, be and it is
hereby amended by adding a new section thereto to read as follows: The
corporate boundaries of the City of Gaithersburg be and they hereby are
enlarged by including therein the following:
