NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND
COUNCIL OF HANCOCK that:

Section 1. The resolution to annex dated September 12, 1966, is
hereby enacted pursuant to the authority and procedures in Section 19 of
Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), as
amended.

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect on December 23, 1966.

AGREEMENT TO ANNEX

THIS AGREEMENT, Made this 18th day of March, 1968, by and be-
tween ROY E. PITTMAN and BETTY N. PITTMAN, his wife, of Han-
cock, Washington County, Maryland, and JAMES S. B. RESLEY and
MARGARET RESLEY, his wife, of Hancock, Washington County, Mary-
land, hereinafter referred to as PROPERTY OWNERS, and THE MAYOR
AND COUNCIL OF HANCOCK, a municipal corporation of the State of
Maryland,

WITNESSETH:

THAT WHEREAS, Roy E. Pittman and Betty N. Pittman, his wife,
and James S. B. Resley and Margaret Resley, his wife, are the sole owners
of real estate adjoining the present corporate boundary of the Town of
Hancock, said real estate being outlined in red on a plat attached hereto
and also described by metes and bounds according to a survey description
prepared by J. B. Ferguson and Co., Inc. attached hereto, both being made
a part hereof, and

WHEREAS, it is the desire to the Property Owners and the Mayor
and Council of Hancock that the said real estate be annexed to enlarge the
corporate boundary of the Town of Hancock according to the Provisions
of Section 19 of Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland.

NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises and mutual
covenants herein contained the parties hereto agree as follows:

1.   The Property Owners hereby agree that the real estate owned by
them as shown on the attached plat be annexed to enlarge the corporate
boundary of the Town of Hancock.

2.    The Mayor and Council of Hancock agree to immediately take
steps to comply with Section 19 of Article 23A of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, to the end that the land in question may be incorporated within
the boundary of the Town of Hancock.
