(f) Advertising signs not in conjunction with uses on the
property where located shall be set back not less than two hundred
feet (200') from THE RIGHT-OF-WAY, any public park, play-
ground or squares, and not less than six hundred sixty feet (660')
from any right of way IN C4 COMMERCIAL DISTRICTS AND
W3 INDUSTRIAL DISTRICTS. Such signs shall not exceed a
height of twenty-five feet (25') above grade, and shall not be located
on, or visible from, any existing or proposed dual lane highway.
(g) Permanent non-residential signs shall be located not less
than fifty feet (50') from any residential property line, and shall be
lighted only between the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 9:00 P.M. (or until
the hour of closing, whichever is later), if:
(1) The locations of such signs are contiguous to, or opposite
from, a residential district with occupied structures, and
(2) Said signs are visible from such structures.
(h) Sign lighting shall be of enclosed lamp design, indirect
lighting from a shielded source, in channelized letters and/or borders
if exposed, and shall not create CAUSE A glare or nuisance beyond
the property limits.
(i) Signs shall not emit or be lighted by flashing, occulting,
revolving or intermittent lighting; nor shall they consist of any
moving parts (except for time and temperature signs), EXCEPT
ROTATING IDENTIFICATION SIGNS WHICH DO NOT EX-
CEED SIX (6) REVOLUTIONS PER MINUTE. No sign shall
be wind activated.
(j) Signs for changeable copy shall be permitted only for
theater signs, activity signs FOR COMMERCIAL COMPLEXES
and signs of public service nature.
(k) (1) Permitted sign size for other than multifaced OTHER
THAN THREE DIMENSIONAL signs shall be measured as the
minimum rectangular area enclosing all elements of the signing area,
EACH BEING CALCULATED SEPARATELY.
(2) Permitted size for mult-faced THREE DIMENSIONAL
signs shall be measured as the surface area of the minimum size
rectangular volume enclosing all elements containing the signing
area.
(1) Temporary signs (including sandwich signs, pennants and
streamers) indicating an event of public interest (such as fairs,
carnivals, community gatherings, and other events of a similar
nature) shall be permitted only upon written approval by the Office
of Planning and Zoning. Such signs shall be removed within seven
(7) days after the conclusion of the event.
(n) Public and General election campaign signs shall not be
placed within public right-of-way, and the removal of such signs
within thirty (30) days of the conclusion of the campaign shall be
the responsibility of the candidate.
