2468                            County Local Laws

(m) One (1) lighted double faced, free-standing public or quasi
public sign of a permanent nature giving the name and/or activities
of churches, schools, hospitals, etc., shall be permitted; provided the
setback of such sign is in accordance with the provisions of the
zoning district wherein located. Such sign shall have a maximum
signing area of thirty-four (34) square feet per face and shall not
exceed a height of six feet (6').

(n) Unlighted signs may be used in areas permitting lighted
signs.

(o) A sign permit shall be required for any sign costing one

hundred dollars ($100.00) or more. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY
PROVISION TO THE CONTRARY, ALL FREE-STANDING
SIGNS SHALL BE LOCATED NOT LESS THAN TWENTY FEET
(200 FROM ALL PROPERTY LINES TO THE CLOSEST PRO-
JECTING EDGE OF THE SIGN.

(p) (1) All applications for sign BUILDING permits FOR
SIGNS shall be accompanied by a site location map and plans of the
property, drawn to scale and properly dimensioned showing the
following:

(1)    Existing structures.

(ii)    Existing signs and size.

(iii) Proposed location on the property.

(iv)    Abutting roads.

(v)    Use and zoning classification of property.

(vi)    Area of principal entry facade.

(vii) The proposed hours of lighting (if any).

(2)     Said application shall also be accompanied by detailed draw-
ings of such sign, showing all dimensions, distances to grade, copy,
colors and materials, structural and architectural supports or back-
grounds, and method of illumination.

(q) All permanent signs shall be made of durable material.

(r) The back of free-standing signs (including braces and
supports) which do not contain signing area shall be of a single color.

(S) POLITICAL SIGNS SHALL NOT BE PERMITTED.

(T) NO POLITICAL SIGNS SHALL BE PERMITTED ON
BILLBOARDS.

Signs in Residential Districts

Section 13-328. Signs Permitted within RA, Rl, R2 and R5 Resi-
dential Districts.

The following signs shall be permitted in RA—Agricultural
Residential, and Rl, R2 and R5 Residential Districts, subject to the
provisions of this Article:
