Section 3. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that as soon as the charter
amendment hereby enacted shall become effective, either as herein provided or
following a referendum, the Mayor of Ocean City shall send separately, by
registered mail, to the Secretary of State of Maryland, and to the Department of
Legislative Reference, the following information concerning the charter
amendment (1) the complete text of Section 188T of the Charter of the Mayor
and City Council of Ocean City, as hereby enacted; (2) the date of the referendum
election, if any, held with respect thereto; (3) the number of votes cast for and
against the question contained in the charter amendment, whether by the Council
of the Mayor and City Council of Ocean City or in a referendum; and (4) the
effective date of the charter amendment.
Section 4. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of Ocean
City be and he is hereby specifically enjoined and instructed to carry out the
provisions of Sections 2 and 3. As evidence of compliance herewith, the said
Mayor shall cause to be affixed to the minutes of this meeting (1) appropriate
certificates of publication of the newspaper in which the Title of this Resolution
shall have been published and (2) the return receipts of the mailing referred to in
Section 3, and shall further complete and execute the Certificate of Effect attached
hereto.

AMENDMENT TO THE CHARTER
OF THE TOWN OF OCEAN CITY, MARYLAND
I, Harry W. Kelley, Mayor of the Town of Ocean City, Maryland, a Maryland
municipal corporation, being the chief executive officer of said municipal
corporation, do hereby give notice to the Secretary of State of Maryland and
to the State Department of Legislative Reference, that the Charter of the
Town of Ocean City, Maryland has been amended as follows:
1. Section Amended - Section 197D
Complete text of resolution amending said section of said charter is attached
hereto. The date of the resolution is 15 April 1969.
2. Referendum Election - There was no Referendum Election nor was there any
Petition for Referendum filed.
3. Effective Date - Said amendment became effective 50 days after the date of
resolution, said effective date therefore being 4 June 1969.
4. Votes Cast - The amendment was by way of legislative enactment by a
unanimous vote of 7 Councilmen for and none against and was thereupon
