Senate Bill No. 1109—By Senator Curran (Departmental):

An Act to repeal Section 94 of Article 100 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume and 1972 Supplement), title "Work,
Labor .and Employment," subtitle "Maryland Wage Payment and Collec-
tion Law," and to enact new Section 94 in lieu thereof, to stand in the place
of the section repealed, relating generally to wage payment and collection;
imposing requirements as to the regularity, frequency and medium of
wage payments and permissible deductions therefrom; establishing re-
quirements in the event of termination; imposing certain duties upon
employers; providing for exceptions, conditions, civil and criminal penalties,
and conferring duties as to enforcement upon the Commissioner of Labor
and Industry and the Attorney General of Maryland.

The President put the question: Shall the bill pass notwithstanding the
objections of the Executive ?

The President announced the veto was sustained by roll call as follows:

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17, of the Maryland Constitution,
I have today vetoed Senate Bill 1119.

This bill authorized the creation of a State debt to be known as the
"State Public School Construction and Capital Improvement Loan of 1973."

House Bill 1465, which was enacted by the General Assembly and signed
by me on May 21, 1973, accomplishes the same purposes as Senate Bill 1119.

Therefore, it is unnecessary for me to sign Senate Bill 1119.
