enforcement as well as conformance by businessmen who do
business in more than one political subdivision; and
WHEREAS, A commission studying the problem could
hold hearings in various parts of the State and provide a
forum for interested citizens to express their views on
the current laws; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
the Governor is requested to appoint a commission to
study the operation of the Sunday Blue Laws in effect
throughout the State and to report back with
recommendations before December 1, 1974 to the
Legislative Council. Members of the commission shall
include representatives of the General Assembly,
business, labor and private citizens; and be it further
RESOLVED, That expenses incurred incidental to the
mandate of this Resolution shall be funded from the
budget of the Executive Department-Governor-Survey
Commissions, 23.01.01.07; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be
forwarded to the Governor of Maryland.

A House Joint Resolution concerning
Franklin Square Hospital Family Practice Program
FOR the purpose of requesting the Governor to obtain
State funds that would assure the reaccreditation
and continuation of the family practice residency
program at Franklin Square Hospital by means of
State financial assistance in capital funds for an
outpatient facility with a family practice center
and to cover an operating deficit of the residency
program.
WHEREAS, Franklin Square Hospital is a community
based hospital in Eastern Baltimore serving 300,000
residents, with another 84,000 expected as housing and
apartments are completed; and
WHEREAS, When Franklin Square Hospital opened its
doors at its new location in 1969, outpatient visits have
increased from 40,000 to over 100,000 a year, with every
