A Senate Joint Resolution concerning

Approval of Amendment to Purchase of Care Procedure

FOR the purpose of indicating approval by the General
Assembly of Maryland of the amendments to the
procedures for determining rates of payment for the
purchase of care for children in group homes and
institutions as adopted by the Board of Public Works
on February 18, 1976.

WHEREAS, Section 245 (c) of Article 41 requires that
the amendment of any rule or regulation which increases
an agency's expenditures beyond budgetary limitations
must receive the express approval of the General Assembly
when the Legislature is in session; and

WHEREAS, At a meeting of the Board of Public Works
on February 18, 1976, the Board adopted amendments to
change the method for determining payment rates on
children in group homes and institutions who qualify in
the intermediate and high categories. These amendments,
effective January 1, 1976, will increase State
expenditures beyond budgetary limitations as follows:

1. Increase the maximum cost reimbursement for
children in the intermediate categories:
