AN ACT concerning

Election Code - Voters' Identification Cards

FOR the purpose of correcting certain language in the
election code; changing the nomenclature of a
certain document issued to a registered voter;
permitting the reproduction of a certain document by
any election board; and making style changes.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 33 — Election Code

Section 3—23

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1971 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 3-23 of Article 33 - Election
Code, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement
Volume and 1975 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed
and reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Article 33 — Election Code

3-23.

(a)            The board of registry [at the time of

registration] shall issue a card containing the name and
address of the voter, the date of issue, and the election
district and precinct of the voter.         [Such] THE card

shall be [prima facie] evidence that [such] THE voter has
been properly registered on the date appearing [thereon]
ON THE CARD. The board [shall have the authority to]
MAY issue duplicate voters' [identification] NOTIFICATION
OR INFORMATION cards, to be stamped "Duplicate" [to a
voter] when [he] A VOTER changes his address[.] OR NAME.
