AN ACT concerning

[[Local]] Public Debt — Reporting of Issuances

FOR the purpose of requiring certain officials of the
State and local governments to report periodically
to the State Treasurer information regarding future
issuances of bonds or certificates of indebtedness;
requiring distribution of this information; and
providing for the effect of this Act on the
authority to issue public debt, or the issuance of
debt.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 12A be and it is hereby added
to Article 31 — Debt — Public, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement) to
read as follows:

12A.

(A) EITHER THE TREASURER, COMPTROLLER, CHIEF
FINANCIAL OFFICER, [[AND]] OR OTHER AUTHORIZED
[[OFFICIALS]] OFFICIAL OF THE STATE DEPARTMENTS,
AGENCIES, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, AND EVERY COUNTY,
MUNICIPAL OR PUBLIC CORPORATION, SPECIAL AUTHORITY, OR
OTHER POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THIS STATE WHICH IS
AUTHORIZED TO INCUR ANY INDEBTEDNESS REDEEMABLE FROM THE
PROCEEDS OF A GENERAL OR SPECIAL TAX OR OTHER LEVY, SHALL
FILE WITH THE STATE TREASURER, ON OR BEFORE THE FIRST
CALENDAR DAY OF EACH YEAR, AND ON OR BEFORE THE FIRST DAY
