AN ACT concerning

Public Service Commission Law - Utilities Rate Base

FOR the purpose of prohibiting public service companies
in their utility operation from charging off against
their rate payers expenses for lobbying [[or
otherwise influencing elected officials]].

BY adding to

Article 78 — Public Service Commission Law

Section 69 (c)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1975 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 69(c) be and it is hereby
added to Article 78 — Public Service Commission Law, of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1975 Replacement Volume
and 1975 Supplement) to read as follows:

Article 78 — Public Service Commission Law

69.

(C) A PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY MAY NOT CHARGE OFF
AGAINST ITS RATE PAYERS EXPENSES FOR LOBBYING [[OR
OTHERWISE INFLUENCING ELECTED OFFICIALS]].

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1976.
