JOINT RESOLUTIONS

Child and that all citizens are urged to encourage and
support the efforts of all agencies and groups working for
the well—being of our most valuable resource — our children;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be sent to the
Governor; the Speaker of the House of Delegates; the
President of the Senate of Maryland; and the Executive
Director of the Office for Children and Youth, Tucky Heller,
15th Floor, 301 W. Preston Street, Baltimore, Maryland
21201.

A Senate Joint Resolution concerning

State Employees - Preventative Dental Program

FOR the purpose of requesting that the State of Maryland
consider for all of its employees, regardless of their
onrollment in any particular he
alth or hospitalization
insurance
—plan, a program for preventative dental
health care
study the feasibility and cost of a
preventative dental health care program for all of its
employees, regardless of their enrollment in, any
particular health or hospitalization insurance plan;
and requesting that the Secretary of Personnel obtain
the necessary statistics and conduct a study of such a
preventative dental health care program and to report
back to the General Assembly no later than October 31,
1979.

WHEREAS, The present employees' health care program
does not include a program for any type of dental health
care; and

WHEREAS, Dental health care programs are part of the
overall health care programs offered by most and increasing
number of employers in the private sector; and

WHEREAS, The general health care of State employees in
Maryland would be greatly enhanced by a health care program
which included preventative dental care which would be
limited to dental examinations, prophylaxis, topical
fluoride, and x-rays; and now, therefore, be it

WHEREAS, In all fairness to both the State of Maryland
as the employer and to the employees of the State of
Maryland, a preventative dental health care program would be
