Ch. 777

(1)  Adopt rules and regulations to administer this
program;

(2)  Monitor the operation of this program;

(3)  Contract with public and private nonprofit
organizations to operate this program;

(4)  Adopt rules and regulations to grant a homeless
individual 3 one-week extensions, in addition to the original 8
weeks, to utilize the services provided under this program;

(5)  Allocate the funds provided for this program; and

(6)  Locate the programs in those areas of the State
with the largest numbers of homeless individuals.]

(C) THE PROGRAM SHALL BE COORDINATED BY A BOARD OF TRUSTEES
AN ADVISORY BOARD.

[134.

The Secretary of the Department of Human Resources shall use
any available and appropriate federal funds for the
establishment, administration, and operation of the program.]

134.

(A)  THE ADVISORY BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE SHELTER,
NUTRITION, AND SERVICE PROGRAM CONSISTS OF 16 MEMBERS APPOINTED
BY THE GOVERNOR.

(B)  THE BOARD SHALL BE COMPRISED OF 2 MEMBERS FROM EACH

JUDICIAL CIRCUIT OF congressional district in the state.

(C)  THE TERM OF A MEMBER IS 2 YEARS.

(D)  THE TERMS OF THE MEMBERS ARE STAGGERED AS REQUIRED BY
THE TERMS PROVIDED FOR MEMBERS OF THE BOARD ON JULY 1, 1984.

(E)  AT THE END OF A TERM, A MEMBER CONTINUES TO SERVE UNTIL
A SUCCESSOR IS APPOINTED.

(F)  A MEMBER WHO IS APPOINTED AFTER A TERM HAS BEGUN SERVES
ONLY FOR THE REST OF THE TERM AND UNTIL A SUCCESSOR IS APPOINTED.

(G)  THE GOVERNOR MAY REMOVE A MEMBER FOR INCOMPETENCE OR
MISCONDUCT.

135.

(A) FROM AMONG ITS MEMBERS, THE BOARD ANNUALLY SHALL ELECT
A CHAIRPERSON.
